McKean County Raceway comes back to life Thursday night as the Zimmer Service Center ULMS Late Models make their first visit of the season to the 3/8 mile oval in East Smethport.  The $2500 to win event will be in memory and honor of United States Marine Corporal Jason Dunahm who passsed away April of 2004 from injuries he suffered in a grenade explosion where he saved several fellow US Marines by his action.s  Dunham was rewarded the Medal of Honor for his brave actions.   The Dunham family were a big part of MCR in the late 1980s and 90s with Jason’s father Dan running in the super late model division.

Dave Hess Jr of Waterford leads the ULMS teams into MCR, Thursday night.  The defending series champion has two wins on the season.  He leads Frankliville’s, Greg Oakes in the point chase.  Max Blair has won both super late model events at MCR this year including the World of Outlaw Series event last month and will no doubt be one of the contenders to find victory lane.  He has won the Dunham Memorial the past two years.   Other stars expected on hand are Damian Bidwell, John Weaver of Commodore, Ohio’s, Breyton Santee, Bobby Rohrer, Brookville’s, Charlie Powell, and Pittsburgh area driver, Colton Flinner is expected to be on hand.

Also joining the ULMS Late Models will be a complete program of Little Power Shop RUSH Late Models, Close Racing Supply RUSH Pro Mods, Advocare by Advozuvy.com Street Stocks, Raught’s Country Kitchen Pure Stocks, Mary Norgrove Notary Mini Stocks and Mandy’s Young Guns.

Race time is 730pm with pits opening at 5pm and grandstands opening at 530pm.  All pit passes are $35 and Adult grandstand admission is $15 with Senior Citizen $12, kids ages 6-15 years of age are $10, while all kids 5 and under are free and the Family pack is $40.
