This Saturday night was already a big night with the Zimmer Service Center UEMS Emods and the weekly Little Power Shop RUSH Late Models running in the Ron Baker Memorial in a pair of $1000 to win events. The Advocare by Advozuvy.com Street Stocks will host the Jim Cobado Memorial paying $400 to win. Also, a complete program including the powerful ground pounding super late models, have been added to the card at the last minute in a $1500 to win event.

“This was a big night that now has turned into an enormous night here at MCR this Saturday with the super late models being added to the program,” stated MCR track promoter, Chris Zuver. “We already have been notified by David Scott, Bobby Rohrer, Darrell Bossard, Max Blair, Greg Oakes, Bob Dorman and others that they will be in attendance.”

The RUSH Late Models will run for a cool $1000 prize in the Ron Baker Memorial. Baker, a long time driver and car owner, raced at MCR and many other tracks in New York and Pennsylvania over his 50 years of competing. Brad Mesler of Wellsville currently holds the point lead over Andy Michael, Max Blair, teenager Kyle Murray, and Jason Tingue going into the Ron Baker Memorial.

The UEMS Emods have not been to MCR this year but their current point leader, Joel Watson of Conneaut, Ohio, currently leads the UEMS points over David Scott, Josh Ferry, Carl McKinney and Troy Johnson. Other notable Emod teams expected on hand are Dan Davies, Al Brewer, Ken Zimmer, Mike McGee, just to name a few.

The Street Stocks will have their first of two special memorial events, with the Jim Cobado Memorial on tap Saturday night paying $400 to win. Cobado, a former street stock racer who competed at MCR, passed away earlier this summer. Rich Wojtowicz of Limestone currently leads the street stock point chase over Brad Curran, Vic Earle Jr, Glenn Layfield and Al Brewer.

Mark Schweikart, of Port Allegany, leads the Raught’s Country Kitchen Pure Stocks by one point over Weedville’s Zack Gustafson and Portville’s, Jake Mascho, who is just three points behind Schweikart. William Bigley of Port Allegany and Bill Deming round out the top five and are less than 12 points behind Schweikart.

The Close Racing Supply RUSH Pro Mods have a tight battle going on between Portville’s Vic Vena and Smethport’s Steve Dixon, as both racers have wins on the year and three points separate the duo. Rich Michael Jr., Ryan Scott, and Nate Hartzell round out the top five.

Shinglehouse’s Kurt Babcock holds a eleven point lead over Dave Lowe Jr. Babcock has won both events this year in the mini stock division. Lowe has a three point lead over Mitch Boylan with Sardinia, New York’s, Holden Heineman one point behind Boylan and Smethport’s Eric Canfield rounding out the top five in the Mary Norgrove Notary Public Mini Stock division.

Mandy’s Young Guns have been the most entertaining class of the year at MCR. The kids class has seen two different winners in three events with Josh Isaman of Knapp Creek sitting on top of the point chart just 12 points ahead of Dusty Skinner and Brooke McClain of Eldred. Dylan Edminster and Josh Canfield round out the top five in points.
Race Time is 7pm Saturday night with pits opening at 5pm and grandstands opening at 5:30pm. Ticket prices have NOT been increased with the addition of the super late models. Adult grandstand admission is $12, Senior Citizens $10, Kids (6-15) $8, Family Pack (2 adults and up to 4 kids) $35, all kids 5 and under are free and pit passes are $30.
